‘I Get It From My Muvva’ Beauty Brunch
While in college I was sure I would be an anchor newswoman.
I was wrong.
After college, I was unsure of what I wanted to do until my older cousin introduced me to a beauty publication called Sheen Magazine. This would turn out to be one of the best decisions of my life.
Fast forward three years later and I have interviewed so many black female bosses in the hair and beauty industries.
The knowledge I’ve garnered from these women about my skin and hair is so valuable and I knew I had to share this information with as many black women as possible on muvvawarth.com
With the kick off of my new blog, I decided it was time to meet with my online readers and supporters and treat them to an afternoon of fellowship, beauty goodies and of course, mimosas with the goal of stirring up innovation and business mindsets amongst my sisters.
What better place to do this then in my hometown of Youngstown, Ohio with one of my long-time friends Brittney Bradley, owner of B’s Boutique.
During our event “I Get It From My Muvva” Beauty Brunch on Saturday, March 17, 2018 we plan on celebrating female collaboration in business and addressing solutions to the external obstacles, such as financial insecurity, sourcing investors and society patriarchal systems disqualifying their talents, that still propel black women’s underrepresentation in the business world.
What makes the event so near and dear to my heart is that it’s been total supported by other black women. From an all-black women panel to all black women vendors and more. I have totally felt the love and support from my fellow sisters. I’m so excited to see everyone.
